The 2006 ACM Awards happened last week in Las Vegas.  I guess we were too busy drinking Coors to notice.  Anyway, here's what went down...

Kenny Chesney took the Entertainer of the Year award over Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, and Keith Urban.

Rascal Flatts took the Vocal Group of the Year award over Alabama, Little Big Town, Lonestar, and Sugarland.

The Top Vocal Duo award was won by Brooks & Dunn.  Also nominated were Big & Rich, Montgomery Gentry, Van Zant, and reality TV personalities The Warren Brothers.

Sara Evans won the Top Female Vocalist Awards with Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood,
Gretchen Wilson, and Lee Ann Womack also garnering consideration.

Keith Urban was named Top "Male" Vocalist.  Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and George Strait were nominated, as well.

American Idol Carrie Underwood was named Top New Female Vocalist over Miranda Lambert and Julie Roberts.

Independent label phenom Jason Aldean won Top New Male Vocalist over Billy Currington and
Craig Morgan.

The Top New Duo or Vocal Group award went to Sugarland over Big & Rich and Little Big Town.

Song of the Year was given to "Believe" by Brooks and Dunn but then the Single of the Year went to "Jesus, Take The Wheel" by Carrie Underwood.  Both were nominated in the other category...  along with a bunch of other mediocre tunes.

There were also awards for videos and stuff like that.
